Enhance datasource 0FI_GL_40(G/L Accounts: Line Items) for Material(MATNR)

Dear All,

We are using the datasource 0FI_GL_40 (G/L Accounts: Line Items) for our reporting requirements in BI system (BI 7.0 SP 18). Unfortunately this standard content delivered datasource ( source system- ECC 6.0 Ehp3 SP2 ) does not provide Material No. (MATNR). So we enhanced it (using append structure populated in CMOD) to add MATNR from BSEG table. But we realised that after the enhancement the data extraction become very slow ( for about 4 million records the extraction time rose to 45 mins. compared to 12 min before enhancement). Taking in account the fact that BSEG is a cluster table, thus would lower the performance drastically, we tried looking for alternate tables that could provide us Material nos. for the Accounting documents ( at line item level). We tried table BSIM but found that it provides material no. only for documents with Account type (KOART) Material (M), but we need material nos. for both account types (M and S).

Could you please share some table names which could provide the required information or suggest a better way to read MATNR from BSEG?
