Hi
We have a test server in which solman is installed with SP level 12 now we want to upgrade it to SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0 EHP 1 Support Package Stack 18 (11/2008) .
My questions
1:Is it possible to directly upgrade from SP12 to EHP 1 Support Package Stack 18
Iam aware of that we need to update the kernel to 7.01 and SPAM to at least 35 patch level apart from these what are the other prerequisties i need to follow

Uday
Thanks Juan will proceed with getting Maintenance Certificate.

Hi Juan
I have uncar all the files placing them in /usr/sap/trans and could see all the files in EPS/IN folder.
My problem is with this message when i execute the Tcode SAINT
"No valid maintenance certificate found for system"
As this is the test server is it possible to bypass this error and proceed with EHP ?

Hi
SAINT is unable to load the software components from EPS/in directory,i have uncar all the EHP 1 sar files and placed xml file in EPS/in but still iam unable to load the package from SAINT
As it is a test server and we are testing it how EHP 1 goes with solman we do not have Maintenace Certificate to generate, is this the problem why saint is unable to load the packages if that is the case is there any alternate or skipe this phase ?
I have used JSPM and applied EHP 1 701 path version 0.3 to JAVA but when comes to ABAP unable to load the packages from SAINT
I have updated SPAM level 35,Kernel Path to 701/35,Patched the system till SP17 which is patch level 16
Let me know where iam going wrong

how did you uncar the files?....
You know that you should uncar those files from /usr/sap/trans because the automatically drop the files in /EPS/in? If you copy the files into /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in and then uncar them you'll end with double folders like /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in/EPS/in and SPAM/SAINT won't find them.
Check that.

Using MOPZ I can't find the option for "SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP 1" we do have "SAP Solution Manager 7.0" that's why we are unable to select SP 18 and above in Target I can see in the drop down list up to SP 17.
Please advise, how we may download the SP18 onwards to proceed further.

Hi
I was checking at Note 1169247 - Enhancements to Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 upgrade (SPS18,19) in contents
5:Download by stack download (optional)
Log on to SWCenter on SAP Service Marketplace:
Support Packages and Patches -> Entry by Application Group -> SAP Technology Components -> SAP Solution Manager -> SAP Solution Manager 7.0 -> Support Package Stacks.
Target stack : SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1-19 (03/2009)
Source stack : <your SAP Solution Manager 7.0 system stack>
-> SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 -> Support Package Stacks
Target stack : 19 (03/2009)
Source stack : 18 (11/2008)
Iam at stacklevel 17 and could not find stack level 17 in Source stack
should i select Source stack : 18 (11/2008) and Target stack : 19 (03/2009) ?
but my system is at stacklevel 17 only
when i leave source stack blank and select target as 19 i could see lot of file which i have applied are in the list

Basically download everything on Stack 18 (or 19 which is basically a few patches more) and apply via SAINT.

What I did with mine was to take it to Stack 18 first
What i could see in market place is Stack 17 which comes with BASIS patch level as 16
Do we have any latest Stack available in market place or its problem with my S user id

you can't do with SP12
You have to be at least SP14 for that
but as Juan suggested go for highest SP level of solution manager available and then EHP1

Hi Uday,
What I did with mine was to take it to Stack 18 first and then apply EHP1 via SAINT.
Also read this note before applying the kernel if you're using windows,
SAP Note 684106 - Microsoft runtime DLLs
I had no problems at all.
