deletion of work center

Hi Experts,

I want to delete workcenter which I have already used in many PM applications like orders, preventive maintenance plans etc. Since it is in use I am unable to delete directly through functions. So I put deletion flag to the work center. Now my concern is, when I run deletion program will this work center to which I put deletion falg get deleted ? If so, will it not affect the old work orders and other applications? What will happen if somebody wants to make changes in that old orders or other applications?

Hi

Before setting the deletion flag for the work center...

Try to replace the old work center by the new work center... use TCODE : CA85

Check out and revert me back...

Hi,

I have checked the T code. Useful one for changing the work center for task lists. But using that can I change the workcenter which I've maintained in the maintenance orders ? Is there any mass changes are available for maintenance orders? Please suggest.

Execute IW38 with selected order type, from the menu bar order - carry out mass change - from the pop up ( F5 ) then select the field work center select the old value and new value then execute (F8)

Hi ,

Thanks for the suggestion. But my system is SAP R/3 4.7 so mass changing facility is not available.

I think it is available on ECC 6.0.

Once you set deletion flag to W/C centre, Next time onword you will not able to use ( U know this )

Nothing will afftect on old work order, Only while confirmation you need to place new work center for on- going orders if any left.
