Organisation structure for Rail Industry scenario

Hi all,

We are in the design phase of implementation and need your inputs based on on your previous experiences or best practices. The Client is Rail company having various mobile stations along with stores for Mechanical maintenence and Engineering maintenence work for Plant maintenance.

The PM team would like have only one planning plant assigned to other plants ( for all stores ).

All the PM master data (e.g. task lists) etc will only be maintained for Planning plant. Work order will be generated for say plant A with all dependent requirements but actual work might happen in Plant C ( this will be known just few days before doing maintenence work ). Then supply of materials/Planning to other plant is a concern with last moment changes .

If you can share how you implemented organisation structure for such scenarios- in case of Rail / Airlines industry supploring both Plant maintenence (PM)and MM for MRP Planning correctly , that would be really helpful.

Any kind of help or useful information in this regard will be appreciated .

Pl. let me know if you need further information .

What we are looking at what would be best way to map Organisation structure in SAP with possible extentions in work order generation if required in case of passenger rail company where Maintenance is supported from Repair shops as well as Mobile stores which move along for Maintenance as required.

Thanks Much
