Freezing columns/rows and Report Headers

Former Member

1. Is there any way to do something like a "freeze pane" where columns or rows are always displayed as the user scrolls through data?

2. I have a report which is grouped into sections. The headers on the sections is repeated over and over - is there any way to put one header at the top of the data block instead of a section header repeated throughout the data?

rachauthon,

Here are the answers to your two questions:

1. No, it's not a feature of the software (but I see this asked over and over, so you'd hope someone in Product Development at SAP will take notice as it is a basic feature offered in many other leading-edge BI software suites...).

2. There is an option to suppress the repeating headers when you've applied a break on a column, this is done by clicking on the outer portion of the grid (which puts a gray/white checkered box around your grid), then click on Properties, and under "Display", enable the option "Show Table Headers". At this point it looks like you have a bigger mess on your hand in regards to headers and it looks hopeless, but hang in there for two more steps -- click once on the second row of your report, which is now appears that the header row is duplicated on the first iteration and is continuing to repeat throughout your report just like you don't want it to, but one more step, right-click to get the right-click menu, and choose "remove row", and voila, success is at hand.

Thanks,

John
