Hello,

While performing a system-copy (data refresh) from a multi-node to a single-node environment we're getting the below error. I have added the services in the target system to match the source system (according to SAP note 2093572) as well as followed the other pre-requisites as well but the error persists. Has anyone faced this before?

2016-11-10T12:08:03-06:00 P092801 1584f6cc72e INFO RECOVERY state of service: indexserver, hostname:30040, volume: 5, RecoveryPrepared recovery could not be completed, volume 5, reached log position 0, [110018] The error <exception 70029048: try to open existing persistence data volume, but filesystem path does not exists: /hana/data/<SID>/mnt00001/hdb00005/

Thanks,

Rick

Hello Hakan, thanks a lot for the suggestion! Just to document this...

I ended up raising an incident with SAP in which they helped resolve the issue. The original scenario was that we were using SnapCreator as the tool for taking snapshots out of our environments and using these to restore as well as to refresh instances. When refreshing a system of similar topology, the copy worked just fine but when doing a copy like the one I mentioned in my original message, SAP claims that SnapCreator is unsupported for those scenarios (and hence the error).

A workaround for this is to take a file-based backup out of the source HANA system and to restore this file-based backup in a HANA environment with similar topology by following the guidelines on SAP note 2093572.

Regards,

Rick
