Dear Experts,
I'm facing a consulting issue w.r.t. MRP run. The scenario is as follows,
Location 1(warehouse01)
Item : FG01
BOM: FG01 whs:01
Line item BOM: RM01 whs:01
Location 2 (warehouse02)
Item :FG01
BOM: FG01 whs:01
Line item BOM: RM01 whs:01
RM01 is a purchase item and FG01 is make item.
we are using Single Database for the 2 locations thus One BOM for FG01
Scenario: If I have Sales Order for FG01 with Qty 10 for warehouse 01 and Qty 20 for warehouse 02, when I run MRP the recommendation result thrown is Production order for FG01 30 Qty for warehouse 01 and Purchase Order for RM01 30 Qty for warehouse 01.
Expected Result:
Production Order for FG01 10 Qty @ warehouse 01
Purchase Order for RM01 10 Qty @ warehouse 01
Production Order for FG01 20 Qty @ warehouse 02
Purchase Order for RM01 10 Qty @ warehouse 02
We are using SAP 2007A
Need your help to attain the expected result.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Aditya

Hai!
Location 1(warehouse01)
Item : FG01
BOM: FG01 whs:01
Line item BOM: RM01 whs:01
Location 2 (warehouse02)
Item :FG01
BOM: FG01 whs:01
Line item BOM: RM01 whs:01
What is the Parent Quantity and Child Quantity in BOM?

Hai!
In step 3 of the MRP Wizard, Uncheck all except Sales Order and Run.
Also, check how many sales order you have booked for that item. (Based on Item)
If, SO booked for 30 Items in Diff warehouse also it will result to 30 FG and 30 RM.
Try to write a query Report and check SO raised for that item in range of dates, that u mentioned in MRP.

Hi Aditya,
You can even explore using formatted search in whare house field at row level in production order.
Meaning when you change the ware house of parent item in production order, SAP will automatically changes the ware house for child items to the same as ware house of parent item.
I believe above is a good work around for your scenario.

Hi Aditya,
I didn't get you.
You mean to say by adopting above methode you wouldn't get classification on recommandation ?
OR
You want the MRP to suggest you the warehouse ? In this case I believe you should choose warehouse at Sales Order Level for FG01. then MRP will recommand you to create production order for FG01 in warehouse mentioned in sales order.
Hope it helps...

Hi Samir,
I think u got it wrong.
If I define FG01 with qty 10 and ware house 01 in Sales order and
in another sales order same FG01 with qty 20 and ware house 02.
Now when I run MRP for FG01 considering the Sales Order, recommendation report says that I need to create Production order of FG01 30 Qty at warehouse 01..!
Since I have defined warehouse 01 in the BOM..!
Thus MRP recommends irrespective of the warehouse selected in the SALES ORDER...!!!
i.e. it considers only the warehouse in the BOM..!
Regards,
Aditya
Hi Aditya,
As you have tested it and found the results, we should consider this as present system behaviour.
Now as your expectation is different you should post the scenario with present behaviour and expected behaviour to Product collobration forum.
But even it is expected as qualified request it will take time to be available. You must take some stand and decide the process (Manual separation of Production order for different warehouse).
I do agree with you that system should recommand separate production order as per the warehouse mentioned in sales order.

Samir Gandhi
Hi Aditya,
Have you executed the MRP?
You have not mentioned the present available result from MRP.
In your scenario you have mentined whs:01 for Location 2 (warehouse02)
Location 2 (warehouse02)
Item :FG01
BOM: FG01 whs:01
Line item BOM: RM01 whs:01
Is it right?
