Create reservation once the sales order is released

Hi, everybody, I get a tough question. In my company, some raw materials for sale should be posted to sales order stock, in that way, we need to specify the strategy group of the material with a certain requirement class so that it can be posted to the sales order stock.

Problem comes along with the specified requirement class, once the sales order of that kind of raw material is released, it creates a demand on sales order stock, which means unrestricted-use stock is not considered in the availability check of that kind of sales order. One of our solution is creating reservation once the sales order is released and the sales order doesnu2019t transfer requirement to MRP, the reservation can create demand on unrestricted-use stock.. Now I know how to stop transferring requirement to MRP from sales order, but for the reservation part, itu2019s still uncertain.

The problem is whether this kind of solution is feasible, if it is, how could I proceed it? Is there any user exit for this kind of idea?

Or is there any other solution?

Thanks for your consideration.

Create a new schedule line category in VOV6 where you can untick the field "Availability" and "Req./Assembly".

Create a new item category in VOV7 and assign the above schedule line category to this item category in VOV5. Of course, you need to assign this item category to your sale order type in VOV4.

With the above settings, for ROH materials, requirements will not throw if you generate order. Parallelly, you can reserve the stock once the sale order is created via MB1B with movement type 412E and proceed with further activities like delivery and billing.

thanks

Thanks for your reply, the prerequisite of your suggestion is that there is available unrestricted-use stock for the sales order. But what if there is no stock available? Actually in that kind of situation, according to the configuration you suggested, no requirement will be transferred to MRP. Even though we transfer requirement from the sales order to MRP, it will create planned order with special stock E, we don't want this kind of material planned in a MTO way.

My demand is that if there is available unrestricted-use stock, once the sales order is released, it can consume the quantity of the unrestricted-use stock and the available quantity will be decreased. If there is no stock available, create requirement for unrestricted-use stock not for special stock. In a whole, no matter in which kind of situation, we need to post the unrestricted-use material to sales order stock.

Thanks for your consideration!
