Release Object

Hi,

I'm new at the Workflow scenario and I'm creating an object with copy of BUS1001 - Material. Then I've created a subtype Ymara01 and a new method for this. My problem is that I can't change the status of these to released, only to implemented. The error message is below:

Released object types must be transportable

Message no. OL678

I'm working in sandbox to do the tests. What can I do to solve this problem?

What is the impact of this?

Thanks,

Guiza

Hi

It will create a transport request in sandbox as well. It'll ask you for the same when you are trying to save/activate it. Just save it in some package specific to your project and not as a local object. Then you can make it transportable and thus put it in the 'released' status.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

You are supposed to save your custom BO in your package rather than saving it as local object. This makes you BO transportable and only then the status can be changed to released.

As your BO is non-transportable now, you are getting the above error message.

I think if the status is implemented only it will work. We have business object running in prod with status just implemented.

Thanks

Hi,

You can also change the status of the object type and its componenet to Released in sandbox, But here you need to assign a transport request to the object instead of creating it as a local object.

Hi,

In sandbox we canot Change the status of Business object to 'Released'.

Becase in sandbox it wont create a transport request.

the main use of Released status objects are Upward compatible.

If your are working in a development client then you can able to change the status to Released ,

Beacuse their we will create a transport request.
