Any ideas on how to create a time dependent Hierarchy in R/3?

Do we have any existing functionality we can leverage in R/3 for creating and maintaing time dependent hierarchy or through ABAP coding in R/3?

Any ideas or documentation will be helpful.

Are there any Time Dependent Standard Hierarchy's for GL Account in R/3?

I tried checking in HELP.sap but could not find.

Can any one tell me whether creation of Time Dependent hierarchy is possible in R/3 without any customization.
