TAPE label and USB config

HI experts,

I am using AIX 5.3 for ECC 6.0 with database Oracle 10.2. I have two queries.

1. I want to rename my tape [rmt0] to say DEVA01.

2. I want to take online and offlien backup in external HDD [ usb 2.0 ] as shortage of resources. Can usb hdd be connected directly to AIX server. How to configure the device from OS level. Please give me also the detail changes that shold be done in initSID.sap [it is configured for tape now].

Plese give some idea to resolve these problems.
