Best App for Financial Reporting

Hi All,

I know this is going to be a bit of a "it depends how you want to report, or what you want to report" answer but if you had to choose one product in the BO suite to handle financial reporting from a BI perspective which one would it be?

I have a requirement from my company to provide a set of reports that enable the slice and dice aspect of some other memory resident tools but based on your basic financial reports, ie: balance sheet, income statement, etc. I'm concerned that the relationships in these types of reports are more complex than your average report. I would like to maintain the context of the original report while having drilldown functionality and the ability to slice and dice.

The reports will be used by a few analytical users and the requirement is to move away from static reports to dynamic ones. I know very little about the BO suite but I do like the look of Polestar, I am just concerned about the reporting of data that is mainly static in a dynamic environment, as a lot of the context could be lost. This makes me wonder if Crystal would be a better bet.

I need some suggestions, personal experiences, and pros and cons of the different options. Bare in mind that ideally I would like to use only one of the products but if needed I could look at using two.

Many Thanks

Richard
