Hi,

We are planning to do a system copy for BW system from production system to quality.We are using ECC 6.0,DB2,Solaris.Please tell me the steps how to perform the system copy?

Hi,

System copy :- Two type of system copy are

1.Homogenous System Copy :-Both the operating system and the database system stay the same during the system copy.

2. Heterogeneous System Copy:-One of the following is changed during the system copy:

u2022 Operating system (in this case, the system copy is called OS migration)

u2022 Database system (in this case, the system copy is called DB migration)

u2022 Operating system and database system (in this case, the system copy is called OS/DB migration)

You need to donwload system copy guide for your DB, OS & SAP release from

service.sap.com/instguides & follow all steps as mentioned.

You need to do further post-processing steps after the system copy which are also mentioned in the doc.

Hi,

IF UR PERFORMING SYSTEM COPY BOTH ABAP AND JAVA WILL BE COPIED

BEFORE STARTING SYSTEM COPY IN TARGET SYSTEM(QUALITY) EXPORT DB IN CONFIG TOOL

If i perform the system copy it will change both Abap and java stack?

Hello,

If you are using backup / restore method yes both ABAP and JAVA will be copied. You also have a option from installation master to select ABAP + JAVA based system copy
