And now, we would like to add one more company into the system, Actually, the business of new comapany is totally differ to our existing business, and they are two entity. I would like to know, we use the existing to add new company or separate it into new SAP system. If add it into existing, anythings we have to concern. Thanks!

Hi,

As per your query you can use n number of company in one SAP system, but you have to maintain only new client for each company like for company 1 is in client 100 and company 2 for client 200 and same thing you have to apply in DEV/QAC environment.

I hope this is clear for you.

That mean create a new client is better than create a new company in the same client? How about the config, I know some of config are client independent.

You make it sound as if it's a simple task to merge two companies into one system. I think it's a project in itself (and not a small one) to investigate both companies' processes and see if they are similar enough to work alongside eachother in the same system. Without that you can be sure a separate system will be the cheaper option, no matter how expensive the hard- and software may be.

We are considering use existing one to create a new company code for our new company, my concept is we can share same perform, same hardware, same backup solution and so on. We just purchase more licenses for the new users. But i'm afraid if use the existing one, we will get a big problem after few months later. Actually, the new company is new business model, new finaincal entity. totally no any relationship to our group. Thanks!

> the new company is new business model

In that case the most probable answer to an "additional client" question will be "no". I wouldn't take the risk. You can run two separate instances on one server but for that I think a serious measurement excercise is needed.

The way you described the New company term in different posts, it's really confusing. Is this only a separate company code along with other related Org. Units? And the some extra user for that? If yes, you can go on creating them in the same client and create separate role structure (with different naming convention) for better security and assign them to the new users.

And if it is different like: You are running one Cosmetics company through SAP and now want to implement SAP for other company, say Medicine,..... then you should forget about tampering your existing SAP Landscape. Please use new setup (hardware, OS, DB, ERP i.e. SAP etc...) for this.

New client in the existing Boxes will become Night mare in future.

Hi,

You can try to use different client in one SAP system for separate entities!
