IIS stops serving crystal reports

i am running windows 2003 - and sometimes IIS quits serving Crystal Reports. Doesn't stop serving anything else - just CR - this just started after modifying the site to VS2008 and CR XI,Release 2

has anyone else seen this and how do you fix it (besides restarting IIS)
