When should I use SAP NetWever BPM and when Business Workflow?

Hi !

I'm in the process to understand how to make decisions about which product is best for different paths of solutions, and to be able to make suggestions to my customers.

First, I read that SAP talks about SAP NetWeaver BPM as an innovation tool for innovation processes, and Business Workflow as a tool for standard processes. If my customer's company can use one or more SAP ERP modules to support complete end-to-end processes, but everything runs inside SAP products, I understand that the best solution is Business Workflow, but if their standard and critical process needs to be supported by different solutions/applications, could be the case that they need to use NW BPM to make that process work ?

Does anyone have clear ideas about how to make customers understand the in which business scenarios should they apply BPM or Business Workflow?
