custom data provider for task gateway

Hi Experts

We are trying to implement Fiori Myinbox as unified inbox for all approvals. As part of this we are trying to access non SAP data using sap custom data provider for task gateway, does any one tried this approach. Could you share your experience and if you happen to find a step by step guide please share

If the data lies within a different SAP system then RFC calls will be able to solve this. One point to note is that you will not be able to handle exceptions raised in remote system in the frontend system.

If the data lies completely outside SAP like in some public domain (may be accessible via some website ) you can get it via a proxy objects.
