$SYNC

Hi,

Can any one please let me know what exactly this transaction does.

$Sync - resets the buffer in the sense is going to flush out buffer area, or just cache.

Ex: we are experiencing lot of swaps, in order to clear buffer other than restarting can $sync serves the purpose.

Thanks in advance.

u201CUse the command $SYNC to reset all the SAP buffers on the application server. These commands only affect the buffers of the application server on which the commands are entered. The buffers of the other application servers in the network are not affected.u201D
