Different results and its conclustion when posting to previous period

Hi,

Here is my case like below.

Current period is 6, previous period is 5.

Action:

1. GR to purchase order, 300EA to QI stock type, posting date is May 25th.

2. MvT. 321 transfer 300EA to unrestricted stock, posting date is May 28th.

3. MvT. 322 transfer 300EA to QI stock again, posting date is June 8th.

Now current stock is 300EA in QI stock type, I tried to return it by MvT. 122

Result:

1. If posting date is June 1st. (or any date in June), no errors.

2. If posting date is May 31st, error message shows "Deficit of SL St.in QI prev. 300 EA"

3. If posting date is May 26th, which is before action 2 above, but error message still shows "Deficit of SL St.in QI prev. 300 EA"

So I conclude that,

If posting date of the movement lies in current period, once current stock is satisfied, the movement can be posted.

If posting date lies in previous period, not only current stock but history stock have to be satisfied if the movement is to be posted.

And based on result 3, the history stock, is the stock of the last day of previous period. Even if you set the posting date to be the first day of previous period, it takes the stock of the last day of previous period into account.

Does my conclusion make any sense?

Thanks!
