Reporting option conveys wrong meaning

Dear friends,

We are using BI7.00. During one of the load to the ODS, due to data error, the load has failed during activation. My doubts are as follows.

1) the "Request for reporting available" icon is visible though the error is displayed -> but when i check in the respective report, system says "No data available"

Can experts explain the exact meaning of "Request for reporting availble"

I have also created an error dtp but when the load fails, the error stack is empty what could be the reason?

Regards,

M.M

Dear charan,

Thank you for the input. I checked by changing the error stack records to 1000. Still i am not able to get the data in the error stack. Actually the header part is still with RED qm status. I could not understand the reason . Can you provide any help on this?

Dear Charan,

Thank you for the input, the error message is

"Value 'MC1§' (hex. '4D0043003100A700') of characteristic ZPM_TCODE contains invalid characters".

System proposes to maintain the value in RSKC. I think if i maintain the vlaue in the said transaction, the problem will be solved. But i could not understand why the error stack was not having any data.

According to my understanding if the character is not maintained in RSKC and if the load takes place, the error records will go to the error stack - am i right?

Hi,

you are right, but I can not comment why those records not moved to Error Stack. it may be the reason of options you have selected in Error handling in error stack and how many records you have defined as error records per pack, I think if it is Zero (0), nothing will happen.

Dear charan,

Thank you for the input. I have created the Error DTP and both the DTP's were active, i have also changed the error handling as per your guidlines but the error stack doesn't show records, what could be the reason. Moreover can you kindly tell me the steps that has to be adopted using error DTP.

My understanding is as follows.

1) Create two DTP's (one error DTP) with the above setting.

2) Load data to the target

3) Load fails,

4) Data with error will reside in error stack

5) change the QM status of the correct records to green

6) correct the errors

7) Schedule error DTP.

Am i right or i commit any mistake?

Hi mangesh,

If DSO activation has failed data can not be available. Could you please share reason/message. Could you please check data available in Active table of DSO. As per my understanding activation error come when it goes from new data table to Active table and change log due to SID. It should not be dependent of DTP error setting.

Removing or editing record ( if invalid) should solve this.

Hi,

The steps you have mentioned is correct, but can you share what error you got while activating the data at DSO level, it may be possible that all records not captured by error stack.

Hi,

If you created your Error DTP, you can see it under your DTP tab ( you will have 2 DTP's 1 for normal load and 2nd one starts with Error DTP), if you can see this, check the settings for error handling and reactivate it again and try to use it.

Hi,

It seems you have set your error handling flag to 'Valid Records update, Reporting possible (Green)' , this may be the cause it is showing reporting symbol at manage tab.

check whether error stack is active or not, just logout and login and then check the error stack.
