Hello experts,

During the installation of Metadata integrator, in DI installation they ask for the CMS server name, is this the host id generated at the start of the installation or this is the default one?? Appreciate your quick response.

Regards.

Dear Deborshee ,

You have to give the name of the CMS server name to which you want to integrate the metadata. For CMS server name, folow the below steps.

START -> Programs - > Business objects XI release 2 - > Busines objects enterprise - > Central configuration manager - > Double click on Central management server - >

You can see your CMS server name ( By default it is hostname.cms ).

Please make this answered if you are OK with my post.

Hi Dirasanchu,

I have downloaded Data Integrator XI Release 2 Accelerated (version 11.7) from service market place, but as mentioned in your reply in START -> Programs - > I do not find Business objects XI release 2 ->Busines objects enterprise. In programs I have Business Objects->Data Integrator and there I do not find any Central configuration manager or Central management server. I have tried with the default one as mentioned by you- "hostname.cms" but it did not work. Can You please help me out.

With Regards,

Dear Deborshee ,

Data integrator is a ETL tool which is used for integration of data. Similarly there another familiar business objects tool (BOXI) which is used to developed reports to the end users. Metadata integrator in data integrator is used to integrate the metadata of data integrator with BOXI. If you install BOXI then you can see the folders that i have specified in the previous post. First install BOXI and then you run metadata integrator.

Dear Dirasanchu,

Thanks for your valuable inputs. Actually I did not install the BOXI first, thanks for your suggestion. But I am facing more problems now. As I install the BOXI, at last a pop up comes sayin that BOE java SDK is not installed though it is installed. Can you please help me out. Anyways thanks for your valuable inputs.

Hi Dirasanchu,

Probably I have downloaded the wrong files of BOXI R2 version 11.7. Because as posted in your earlier posts though I installed the BOXI I did not find the folders as mentioned by you. And even when I installed the BOXI first the same folders get installed and the procedure is also the same as in BODI. Can you please provide me the link where I can download the correct files from Service Marketplace.

Regards,

Deborshee.
