Azure Data Factory on SAP BW

Hi,

we are trying to use SAP BW and HANA as sources for pulling data into the Azure Data Factory. We have used the netweaver sdk dlls and the HANA client respectively. We are able to connect to the sources and they display the cubes and the views correctly.

However, as we try to pull data, there is a timeout error that comes up. We have done the setting on the Azure Data Factory side but then the query hangs and keeps running for ever.

Could you please let me know if someone has encountered this scenario before and if there is a way to trace the dlls or the HANA client to see if the issue is from the BW side or the Azure side? Is there some setting that can be done on the Netweaver SDK or the HANA Client side?

Hi Vinayak,

if I understand correctly from this article the MDX itnerface is used for reading the BW data.

Check out the SAP Community Wiki on the BW MDX implementation.

Mostly the RSTT trace is used for troubleshooting.

Hi Nora, I am urgently looking at ways to connect AZURE to SAP BI HANA (Netweaver 7.4) in order to extract data from AZURE and save it in ADSO in SAP BI HANA.
