To make PR header note Mandatory

Hi Experts

I want to make the Header Note in Purchase Requestition(ME51N) a mandatory field. I tried it with BADI and Userexits but it is not working.Any functional ideas welcomed.

Hi Rakesh,

Unfortunetely I have to confirm you that there is no chance for your issue !!!

PR is an internal document,the field 'text note' in PR's header is only for reference.(It is not displayed in old transaction ME51.) So the header note can only be entered and displayed in transaction ME51N.

There is also no customizing for this text and no copying rules to copy it to other purchasing documents. You cannot configure any other text types into this field. Therefore Header text are not copied into the Purchase Order in the standard System.

The functionality for header text in BAPI_REQUISTION_CREATE also does not exist.

Since its not possible to make it mandatory, why dont you give a Big Dialog Box message saying "ENTER HEADER TEXT!!!!!" , even then if the users dont enter the text then making it mandatory is also useless. coz in they'd enter garbvage anyways.
