AJAB - asset year close

Dear Experts,

In AJAB i am trying to close the 2008 asset year it is stating in one log for one asset depreciation is not posted completely. please help how to do and 2007 is already closed. 2008 and 2009 are opened i want to close 2008 for the purpose i want to preprare a training manaul how to proceed. Please help me

open up the period in 2007, goto the asset master, change the depreciaiton key to 0000. restart the deprecaition run for FY 2007, check if there is any posting, i believe there should be no posting but you will need to open up the period, do this until you carry over fy 2008, change the depreication key back to orginal.

In Asset Accounting you can keep open two fiscal years at a time.

2008 and 2009 are open for your Asset Accounting.iey 2007 is closed.

Now you are trying to Close 2008 Asset fiscal year with AJAB and you got the error and seen in the log that Depreciation for one Asset is not posted completely.

Go to AW01N - Asset Explorer and give that Asset Number and check for the year 2008 , which periods have not been run depreciation.

Select the Repeat Run in AFAB and post the depreciation for that Asset and try closing Asset Fiscal Year 2008.

Hi Balu,

There is no way out. it is quite possible that after depreciation run when both year were opne and Posting period 12 was also open some body might posted or capitalised the assets in 2009 by keeping posting period as 12 in fy 2008 so the depreciation was missed.

Try, if you can chnage depreciation strat date in Assets Master data from 01.01.2009. In this case for depreciation posting would not be required.

When you do AJAB now, you can see the assets number by clicking on the error.
