I need to create a layout for a particular ALV Grid report without running the program, and without making a programming change. The program updates journal entries, so I do not want to run it. Some user somehow deleted the report's layout definition, and now I have to re-create it, so the report is produced in the correct format. Is there an external utility where you would enter the name of the program, and the name of a layout, which it would then help you set up or maintain?
I think the easy way is you set the debug at the time before update database and push Shift + F12 to bypass it, then you can display ALV without update journal entries. Other way, you can try fm LVC_VARIANT_SAVE or REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_SAVE to save layout...
