Hello,
I am installing Java patches using JSPM, and it's gonna take a while.
I was wondering, in the mean time, can i start SGEN on ABAP side?
Would there be any repercussions?
Thanks.
there should not be any issues while running SGEN,but I would say you should not
Also applying patches through JSPM should not take much time,so you should wait
Also SAP doesnt recommend this

If you are only installing java patches, and not the kernel binaries with JSPM and your server is having free cpu ressources, then you can start SGEN. Because if you also update your kernel, then the whole SAP will be shutdown and restarted. But as Rohit said, if in doubt, then just wait until JSPM finishes.
