Parse data from Xcelsius doc to Xcelsius doc within Dashboard builder

Hi Experts,

I would like to parse data from Xcelsius doc to Xcelsius doc within Dashboard builder just like Jim Brogden does here: http://myxcelsius.com/2008/11/19/use-xcelsius-2008-to-communicate-with-web-intelligence-and-crystal-reports/

However when I read the Xcelsius 2008 user guide (help), then I believe this is what I should do the following:

"The Portal Provider Connection should be added to any visualization that will provide data to another web part. In this case only Xcelsius 2008 Portal web parts can be used to consume information from a visualization that is using the Portal Provider connection.

The Portal Provider contains the same options as the Portal Consumer connection. See above for details about these three options."

My problem is that I cannot get the consumer to receive any data.

If anyone has experience with this then please help

Please help.

Michael

    Michael -

Any updates? Have you figured out how to do this? I'm banging my head against the wall trying to make it work without any luck. I reviewed a webinar from Brad Welch from June 18 and it looked so simple. i'll try to trun him down to see if there is more to this, but please post back here if you get it to work.

    Thanks,

    Pizzaman

      Hi,

I am trying to achieve this in the Sharepoint 2007 rather than Dashboard builder. I was able to see connections from one webpart to another but they are not communication.

I have several questions about it.

      1. I have created Connection Type Provider and Consumer with exact same information like Name as "Hello", Range as "Row" and mapped the cell Range. Do we need to create parameters in Provider as well as consumer?

      2. Is xcelsius 2008 container webpart same as Xcelsius 2008 portal webpart?

Can you share your xlf source files which would help me in getting idea of what connections / parameter I need to configure.

      Thanks

      Amar
