Dear Basis experts,
Our company is planning to upgrade our 3-tier landscape servers from Linux RHEL version 6 to RHEL version 7+Oracle DB version upgrade(from 11.2.4 to 12.1.0.2)+apply SPStacks at application level.
My current task is to document current Appl SAPs and DB SAPs per week, add 30% of metrics to it and calculate new estimated SAPs for newer hardware/software.
In order to determine current SAPs usage, I am using below methods.
Method1:
From ST03N - finding out Low/Medium/High users category - determining dialog steps for each user category( times 20 for low, time 120 for medium and times 360 for high) - dividing it by 60 to get SAPS
Method2: ST03N - total number of Dialog steps - divide it by 60 and number of days to get SAPs
Method3: EWR report - Total number of Dialog steps - Divide it by 60 and this will give SAPs.
Method4: used QuickSizer tool and got through put values for SAPs
1. Is there any other way to calculate total SAPs consumed by existing/current hardware setups? - Note Method 1 to 3 does not match with Method 4 values and Method 4 value is too low when comparing to other methods.
2. How to calculate DB server SAPs used? or Is there any way to determine SAPs from DB growth per week/month?
3. Is there any way to determine SAPs used from CPU usage or memory usage?
thanks in advance for your help on above topic.
thanks and best regards,

Thanks for the reply and the link provided. I am going over the link one more time to make sure, I did not miss any task.
Already used Quick Sizer tool, I keyed in a approximate values only for quicksizer(like no of users, total line items etc), It came back with a value say "X SAPs" is required, This value is too low when compared to other method calculations. That is why I am trying to understand which method will be more accurate. I will keep you posted to make sure I did not miss any...
thanks
