Part to be discontinued is not redirected to follow-up part sometimes

Hi, friends

In my case, requirement for the part to be discontinued is not redirected to the follow-up part in production order sometimes.

When creating production order, if I entered order quantity which requires the to-be-discontinued part more than its stock, the requirement can be redirected to the follow-up part correctly.

If I entered order quantity which the stock of to-be-discontinued part can cover the requirement, of course the requirement will not be redirected.

But after that, no matter if I saved the order or not, if I change the order quantity to a big number, though the stock of to-be-discontiued part is far from enough, the requirement is still not redirected to the follow-up part.

Why does this problem occur?

Thanks.

Wesley

Wesley,

After changing the order quantity you need to perform the availabilty check manually by clicking the 'Availabilty check' check icon or use 'control+F4'.

The other thing you can do is after changing the order quantity read the PP master data again (if order status permits) so that it gets the craeted status again then release the order so the availabilty check is carried out automatically.

The discontinuation data entered is effective only when the availabilty check is carried out.

Hope this helps you.

Hi,

1. If the stock is available for the discontinued material . so system will not redirect to use the follow up material for anycase.

2. After made the change the order qty, pls check the Availability check manually

3. pls check the date in which you maintian to use the follow up material in the material master.
