Dep. Key based on Useful Life

Hi all of you,

Can anybody clear me how to create a depreciation key based on useful life since we have a Non Leading ledger for US GAAP and have separate dep area for that.

And tell me another thing, what is the functionality of useful life while using the depreciation key with stipulated percentage?
