Fitting more than 80 cols on portrait

I have a problem on my hands that I have been unable to resolve.

The report is 65x80 and prints in Portrait. But 80 columns is not enough to display all the data I want, I need atleast 90 columns but then printing makes it landscape and I need to keep it in portrait.

I looked at config in anything more than 80 columns is set to print in landscape. I spoke to Basis and they said it is too much work for them to create a format style. Can anyone think of ways to include more than 8- columns in the page and still print portrait.

Will converting this classical report to an ALV fix it?

I think X_90_120 is a standard format. Why not use that? It prints portrait.

You can develop ALV Report but look at font and format size of alv.

Print the exampl alv report and see if that matches your current requirement.

Hello Meagan,

My first reaction would be to go back to your Basis group and ask them to create a Format Type.

This should only take 5 minutes.

Then you will have to get them to add the Format Type to all of the Device types used in your company.

This may take a little longer, I do not know how many device type you use.

You will still run into the same problem if you convert your report to an ALV type report.

You are on the right track.

Hope this helps a bit.

There are many device types and the Basis team feels that assigning the new format type to each and every device type will take far too long of their time. So that is essentially out of the picture although I know technically that is the right solution.

I am wondering if anything can be done from an ABAP point of view

The users say 90x120 is too small a font for them. I know the users are been too demanding.

I don't know that there's much you can do about it - other than replacing your users

I think thats a great idea. Users that want SAP to work like their legacy system need to be replaced!!
