Master Data Online Product

My company has information about People in multiple places in our data environment (home-grown systems rather than an SAP-based framework). We need to create a consolidated "master list" of people from the different sources. Some people are in one and only one source; others exist in multiple sources.Some attributes of our master Person record come from multiple different sources; others are only in one source. We need to be able to:

1) Identify all records from the various sources that reference the same Person

2) Assemble our Master record from the various matching source records.

Based on my reading, this is not easily done in tools that use a "survivorship" model.

Is MDO built around a "survivorship" model?

Can this be reasonably accomplished in MDO?
