ECC 6 Upgrade from R/3 4.7

Hi Gurus ,

We plan to upgrade ECC 6 from R/3 4.7, I have one doubt in this,

can we upgrade R/3 4.7 PRD system to ECC 6 DEV system.

If it is possible, kindly give the procedures involved in it.
