BW portal planing function

Hi all,

i have a question regarding setting planing levels using BW planing functionality.

We use the BW web to plan budgets. The process is at the moment the following:

Via portal user is setting a planing level, e.g. called planing level C. After this step, user can create via link a BEx workbook, for this planing level C.

Now we have the following problem:

User should be able to set different planing levels, for each planing level needs to be created a workbook, like

1. Set planing level C -> BEx workbook "C"

2. Set planing level D -> BEx workbook "D"

etc.

up to max 100. User needs to be able to work offline on the generated workbook and to log on to BW via BEx with their workbook if they need to. The problem is in the current set up, In the portal role of the user, there is always stored the last planing level the user has set. What can happend, user goes online with workbook "C", created by setting planing level C, but in their BW role, is the last planning level "D" stored.

Question 1:

Is this a normal set up of the planing functionality? Is it not possible to do something like

User1 - planing array[n] as a table

Each user in the profile is linked to a profile table which allows to have n planing level. The planing level is stored in a table.

Question 2:

How can we identify that workbook "C" is linked to planing level C?

Is ther locally in each workbook stored a unique ID?

In one sheet in the workbook there are several parameters transfered from BW web

Parameters:

Profit Center WE62P-1

Profit Center Name WE ACC East Halle 1

Cost Center #

Cost Center Name XXXXX/Not assigned

Scenario SI1

+ +

Planning: Key Date 04/06/2009

Fiscal Year for planning XXXXX Europe 2009

Fiscal Year for planning 2009

ZBUD Country Customer Exit Germany

ZBUD Country Customer Exit DE

Controlling Area Customer Exit XXXX DE

Controlling Area Customer Exit XXXXX

Scenario Scenario 1 - Best Case

Scenario SI1

Planning Profit Center Customer Exit WE ACC East Halle 1

Planning Profit Center Customer Exit WE62P-1

Planning Cost Center Customer Exit XXXXX/Not assigned

Planning Cost Center Customer Exit #

BU Profit Center Customer Exit WE ACC East Halle 1

BU Profit Center Customer Exit WE62P-1

Country Germany

Currency Not assigned

Currency Type Not assigned

Fiscal Year XXXXX Variant Europe

Fiscal year K4/2009, K4/2010

Controlling area XXXXX DE

Planning Cost Center XXXXX/Not assigned

E.g. Profit Center + Business Unit would be a unique key.

Question 3:

Does anybody has experience what is the best way to set up the planing function with different planing levels linked to each workbook and user profile/Id?

Thanks a lot, hope somebody has had the same problem and give me some advise.

Kind regards

Michael

Seems the layout function is not working properly!? I can sent it as a word document if necessary.
