Can we install Crystal Reports XI on a sever where Crystal Reports XI Release 2 already installed on it?
So that both version can co exist.

yup.
One caveat is that the original release of XIR2 had one dll that was not side-by-side (can't remember the name). This was fixed in the first patch so simply install and make sure you are patched.
