New to MM

Hello everyone.

I am working on learning MM and would like to leave working as an SAP Security Analyst. I really want to make the switch and change the direction of my SAP career. I know that I can learn the the module etc...but wonder what it will take to actually be able to get an MM position? I know there is a difference between book knowledge and real life working experience.

How do I get this experience? Any advice or warnings would be greatly appreciated.
