Hi,

is this portal credential mapping or BusinessObjects credential mapping ?

in case it is BusinessObjects I would suggest to post the question on the BusinessObjects Enterprise forum

Hello Ingo,

I talked about maping SAP BW users.

I have integration between SAP BW and SAP BO.

I use SAP login and password in BO.

But I restrict data in BW by group and users.

If I create univers I should enter user name and login in connection.

But for correct work and security I should use credential mapping in connection.

Now I can't understand where I should provide mapping.

for correct security you would use SSO in the SAP connection and configure the SAP authentication on your BOE server. the user would then use the SAP credentials for logging on to InfoView and to run the report

Ingo,

Regards for you answer.

Somebody say that it's possible to mapping bo user and sap bw user.

But as I say only credential mapping by using SAP users in BO and BW working.

Your answer approve my opinion.

Ingo,

Now I'm working on SAP authentication.

I read this /people/ingo.hilgefort/blog/2008/09/19/businessobjects-and-sap--configure-sap-authentication

When I open Role import tab i receive error - Login or password incorrect (repeat logon).

But I'm sure that it's right password, I can to use it in saplogon.

I had this error half of year ago, but I don't remember how I find solution ot it.

Can you help me?

Regards,

Roman

Hi Roman,

did you check that the SAP credentials that you are using the SAP Authentication page has the necessary authorizations (it is mentioned in the Installation Guide for the SAP Integration Kit).

did you deploy the SAP Java Connector on the BOE Server ?

thanks a lot

Hi Ingo,

I've read this manual. SAP authentication is ok, I can use login in saplogon.

I tuned all settings for system.

Yep. I've done it. Before it I had error with Java Connector at the moment, when I click to tab role import.

This problem I solved.

But now I can't understand why system doesn't wan't to apply my password.

Something strange, if I click many times to tab role import, my SAP account will block

please use SAP JCo 2.1.8.

Hi,

Here I am facing similar question: Data permission is controlled in BW, therefore, I need to create Universe using connection based on BusinessObjects credential mapping. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The issue is, if I choose "BusinessObjects credential mapping" as step 2 of creating a new SAP connection and test it, system always return me with "DBD: Unable to connect to SAP BW Server Incomplete logon data."

I also tried to use "Use SSO", and it came back with same error.

Anyone has a solution for this error message? I can use BW user and password to login to Universe Designer or InfoView without problem.

Best regards,

Stanley
