SAPSLDAPI requires restart on failover

Good morning all.

We have setup our ECC 6 environment to failover to a clustered server (MSCS). All seems to work fine when we failover, however the SAPSLDAPI and LCRSAPRFC show as not registered in SM59 and we have to stop and restart the SAPSLDAPI program for it to take effect and work correctly. Once we do that, both programs connect just fine.

When we fail back to the primary server, all works fine without having to restart the program. However, if we do not stop and restart the registered program on the failover server, when we fail back to the primary it won't work and we have to stop and restart the program there.

I am new to failover, so I am not sure what all information is required, but everything appears correct according to the setup instructions, etc.

The JCo information is correct in NWA as well.

If anyone has any suggestions, or at least can possibly point us in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I think you need to specify the virtual hostname of the cluster in transaction SM59

for the gateway host (for the two below mentioned RFC connections).

As well as on the java side in virtual administrator -> jco rfc provider

Pls see SAP note 951910 for more information.

Thanks.

Check the Gateway Host and Gateway Service.I guess we need to give the logical server name.

Hope this helps.
