Default item category and special stock indicator in IW31

Dear All,

Our client do not want to select component item category and special stock indicator when ceating MO using IW31.Can you tell me how to set default item category and special stock indicator of component in IW31.

Use follwing path and do the settings as required....

SPRO->Plant Maintenance and Customer Service->Maintenance and Service Processing->Maintenance and Service Orders->General Data->Define Default Values for Component Item Categories

Sundar,thanks for your reply.We have configured as the menu you mentioned ,but it is still needed to be selected manually. I think there must be some other menu to default it.

If you want system should select the item category as L for all the material types ,then in the spro>PM/CS>Maitnenace processing>Maintenance and service order>General data>Define Default Values for Component Item Categories

here specify all the material type and plant with category as L ,

but i think for special stock type you have to check the customer exit

I have specify all the material type and plant with category as L in the menu:spro>PM/CS>Maitnenace processing>Maintenance and service order>General data>Define Default Values for Component Item Categories.But it does not have the default L effect,when creating the MO we still have to chose the category manually.

Kindly check the plant you have specified ,its working fine for me .kindly check whether the material is extended to the plant you have specified

Thanks, the default item category problem is solved. I fist thought to configure the default item category just as CS01. Before input the material the item category can be seen , not like the default item category emerges after the material is input . For special stock type I have to use customer exit.

Hi sorry for commenting on an old note. Did you get the default value for Special Stock indicator in Orders of specific type.

Probably only by development using BADIs or Enhancement Spots (there doesn't seem to be any suitable user-exits)
