Can you please download the new SAPcarfile from service market place.
Please check that there is enough space in your file System and memory.This error usually occurs when you dont have enough memory

Hello
Please go to SMP. There choose the path Downloads>>SAP Software Distrbution center>>Support Packages and Patches - Entry by Application Group>>Additional Components.
Thereby You would see SAPCAR and then you can choose the same based on your OS ( Linux, AIX, UNIX etc )
I Hope this answers your query

Hi can you please check this.
$ ulimit -a
time(seconds) unlimited
file(blocks) unlimited
data(kbytes) unlimited
stack(kbytes) 8192
coredump(blocks) unlimited <----should be set to unlimited
vmemory(kbytes) unlimited
If the coredump size is not set to unlimited you might change it by typing
$ ulimit -c unlimited (KORN SHELL)
$ unlimit coredumpsize (C-SHELL)
or if you could stop the SAPSYSTEM and have free menoryand then try to uncar.
Thanks Rishi Abrol
Hi
Please use the command 'pkginfo | fgrep -i SUNWlibC' to determine if the package SUNWlibC is installed with the standard installation option of the OS, as these contain certain C++ dynamic library used by SAPCAR.

Hello
This error usually occur under two conditions :
1)The last file may not be completely extracted
2) Use the latest SAPCAR from sapnet.

Hi,
whenever you are doing kernel upgrade and trying to uncar the files, then don't use SAPCAR of exe to extract it because when it uncar the kernel files then it gives new SAPCAR file which tried to overwrite present SAPCAR file but it is in use as you are using it.
So, it is not able to overwrite it and through errors.
So, copy the SAPCAR to some other directory and use it.
By the way path to new SAPCAR on service market place is:
Support Packaeges --> Entry by Application group --> Additional Components --> SAP Kernel --> <Select your kernel type > --> <select kernel version> ---> <select operationg systems> --> Database independent
