We are using NW 7 Portal for ESS.
Authentication on Portal is via LDAP.
SSO is via User ID and password since backend ECC and LDAP users are different.
When trying to map a certain user in the Portal User Admin screen I get the following error:
An unexpected error occurred when retrieving all backend systems available for user mapping.
Under "User mapping for system access":
There are no systems available for user mapping for the selected principal.
This only happened for 1 user so far. Others are successfully mapped and can view the necessary ESS screens and correctly get info from the backend.
I have checked that the system object has a alias and that its permissions is set to allow Everyone Read + end user access.
UME configuration has a reference system defined.
Any ideas?

Sunil
The reference system is defined in System Administration>System Configuration>UME configuration-->User Mapping
So this same system should be used for all users.
The system object does have end user set for Everyone.

First give atleast read permissions and end user checked to the system object. This you can do at system admin->system landscape and go to yout object and open with permissions.
Create a system alias and then go to user admin->identity management and go to the users and click on user mapping below .
in the drop down select the system alias and map with the user id and password and test it.

As well as everyone read on the system object, make sure you have the end user flag set for everyone.

Did you define the reference system as SSO with user mapping ?
Did you use this same reference system for other user's where the usermapping was successful ?
