Can't rebuild BIA index

Former Member

Dear All,

When I check the system from RSDDBIAMON, there is a result as :

"Check for inconsistent logical indexes" and from the details I get :

"brli086a 32003 b2p_bic:fzpa_cth02 Not all parts of the logical index exist"

When I attempt to rebuild BIA indexes on the mentioned cube, it does not work. Screen freezes, no job is started in SM37.

All I can do is to "stop the transaction".

Could please give your advices for this situation, how should I proceed ? What to check ?

thanks in advance

Execute the program RSDDTREX_INDEX_ADJUST on the cube. This should fix your issue.

Hi Berna,

Version 50 is released yesterday >check note 1313411. One of the bugs fixed with this version is the message you're getting. This might help.

In the mean time, I would delete and reload the indexes for this cube. You said that you can't rebuild it, can you delete it?

Cheers

If one of your blades is donw - take a restart of that blade and then drop the index from the RSA1 menu for that cube and the index will get deleted and then rebuild the index again.

This used to happen to use when one of the blades was down or overloaded and we usually restarted the particular blade and rebuilt the same.

The situation happens when Indexing is stopped midway and not all the tables of the cube are indexes - in particular the dimension tables or the Facte table is not indexed... and the index becomes inconsistent.

Also what is the TREX version of yours ..?

Hi Arun,

We are currently on version 48. So if I can't complete the rebuilding, is restarting the blade only solution ?
