how to change characteristic values using analysis for excel

Dear All,

I built an input-ready query on SAP BW ( 7.3, sp 5). There is a characteristics ( char 60, with no master data ) can be changed on Business Explorer Analyzer .

When using analyzer, i can enter a new text and save it on my real time cube on BW.

However, when i open that input ready query via Analysis for Microsoft Excel ( Vers 2.3 ), i can not edit this characteristics.

Are there anybody who lived same problem and solve it?

We could not solve this issue. Then, we were upgrading customer system and we used the upgraded system.After upgrade project live, our project will be live too.

Hi Kevser,

in all BICS Java based clients it is not possible to create new master data values in new lines for characteristics without master data table. You have to implement some notes but your 7.3 support package is too old. Cf. the notes:

Hello Gregor,

Because 2150687 and 2274726 corrections could not be implemented via snote, customer BASIS team refused to implement them. Also, there are no manual implementation guide for these notes.

(I controlled our system, these notes have not implemented yet. )

Do you have any recommendations for it?
