Server based integration in groupware from CRM to Outlook and vise versa

Former Member

Hi All.

I have done all the settings for server based groupware integration between CRM 2007 and Outlook. But i am not able to synch Appointments, Tasks and Contacts Automatically but if i synch manually they are synching. Every time i create any of these i have to do manual synchronization. But as per my current project requirements i need to synch them without any manual intervention the moment Appointments tasks or Contacts are created in Outlook should appear in CRM and Created in CRM should Appear in Outlook without any manual synch.

I would appriciate a quick response on this. I am stuck with this from the long time and i need to resolve immediatly as go live date is approaching very fast.

Thanks

sama

Sama,

Just to clarify, you have setup the groupware connector on a separate box and the connector proxy on the exchange server? Or is your groupware connector on the exchange connector along with the proxy?

In addition you have verified that when you create activities, tasks and contacts that entries are being created in the ABAP mapbox look at table CRMD_MBA_GUISTOR and report CMW_DISPLAY_MAPBOXSTORE

Do you see lock entries in your groupware connector?

If you get my point we need to know more about where the replication is failing.

Verify your config also with this wiki entry:

https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CRM/CRM2007GroupwareIntegrationSteps

Hi Stephen.

Thank you very much for your reply it is very helpful. Now iam able to synchronize Contacts to Public Folder automatically without any manual intervention. But I want contacts should go to Private folder. And also iam not able to synch Appointments and Tasks automatically. I have checked this programe CMW_DISPLAY_MAPBOXSTORE Ical/Vcal card is empty no value are found in that. Secondly i have checked CRMD_MBA_GUISTOR this table there are no entries in this too. And also i checked MAPBOX Registration in SM59 and It has all the errors and also says that Mapbox is not registered. Do you think this could be the reason for not working.

Please reply.

Thanks

Sama,

It sounds like you did not turn on the ABAP mapbox. For CRM 2007, you don't need to use the java based mapbox. Check the table ISPCFG in SM30. The parameter CRM_MAPBOX should have a 'X' by for the field PARVAL. If you are not CRM SPS 03 then you'll need to download and apply all the ABAP mapbox notes relevant to CRM SPS01 first. You might also want to apply any recent notes based on your support stack level.

Once you do this you'll need to do the following:

- Delete all existing queues stuck in SMQ1, SMQ2 that start with ISP*

- Re-run the initial download to the GWA_01 / GWA_02 sites

Verify that activities you want to download have the proper partner function mapping as described in the wiki config and that their partner records are setup with an e-mail address that corresponds exactly to their internet e-mail address in exchange.

That should get you close.

Take care,

Stephen

Hi Stephen.

I have written to SAP regarding the Server based synchronization but they came back to me saying that it is not supported for 2007. Could you please tell is if this informaiton is correct. As i have been working on this scenario where i am integrating Server based Synchronization of Contacts from CRM to Outlook and Appointment, Tasks both the directions CRM to Outlook and Outlook to CRM.

Client based synchronization is working but as per the business requirement we need the server based synchronization as it will fecilitate autosynchronization the moment Contacts are created in CRM it will flow into Outlook without any manual synchronization and are Appointments. Could you clarify if the serbver based synchronization works in CRM 2007.

Thanks and Regards

Sama

Sama,

If SAP told you that that the release combination was not supported, then I won't having anything to contradict that for Exchange/Outlook. We are a notes shop here, so I can't comment on what is possible not possible for Exchange/Outlook once it goes beyond the groupware connector software.

Thank you,

Stephen
