Text ID for documents

Hi,

we define Text ID for documents in OB56 & OBT8.

how to use and what is benifit of using it?

For OB56 - You F-02 kind of transaction codes, you will have drop down list for line item texts.

If your code is H1, simply enter =H1, the text gets picked up.

Hello,

Go to F-02

On field BSEG-SGTXT (document line item text), keep your cursor and press F4.

It gives the drop down list, select them manually.

If you think it is time consuming and you know codes

just enter code preceeded by =

For example =H1 etc. it picks up the text.

its working... there is one solution to F4. We can use "=" (is eual to) before the text ID and then enter.

now its clear for line item Text ID, would tell me how to use document header Text ID? and

Use: if we give * before the word it will be help ful for printing.

please currect me if i m wrong for use of Text ID.

the solution you provided is not happening in my case like:

i have define following setting:

in OB56: Text ID: 0000 (only for Swaziland) 0100 to 0999

in OBT8: Text ID: 0001 Correspondence

In f-02, I am able use "=" for "0000" which is defined in OB56 and trange is when i use "0001" , I got error message "No standard text found".

I think what we define in OBT8 is Document Header text, but i don't know how to use it.

Please currect me if i m wrong.

Hi Pankaj,

If you create Text ID in OBT8 transaction, you can view this field name in the Texts of any document.

For example..

As in your case 0001 - Correspondence. make sure that relevant text is activated in OBT8 transaction.

Now in any document give Long text(For example - Customer Invoice) and post the document.

Go to FB03 and view the posted document.

From Menu bar --> Extras --> Texts

You can view a new window Texts in Accounting Document

In this window you can view Correspondence in the description field. If you dont activate the Relevant Text in OBT8 you will get a status message as no Text IDs maintained...

The text ID in OBT8 is activated and I am unable to use it is for header or line item Text...

I am able to use only text id which is defined in OB56 which is only for line item.

can you suggest some way for the problem i m having?

Pankaj,

you cannot use the text id which you have defined in OBT8 transaction. Its just acts as a template.

You cannot use this in doc. header text or line item text.

While posting a document, please update the Long Text field and post the document.

You view the document in FB03 transaction.

In the document display screen: Menu bar --> Extras --> (Click on)Texts..

You will see a new window, in which you can view the Correspondence in the description field and under first line column you will find the long text which you have given while posting the document..
