COPA Extractors Account Based or 0FI_ACDOCA_10

Experts - We have a situation in existing landscape in ECC the COPA extractor has been design as Costing based which is with 100 Value fields. Now I understand with few of the blogs in S4HANA, everything is based on account and it is recommended to create COPA extractor ( Account based)..

However, My question do we really need to create COPA Extractor ( Account based) or can we leverage the Standard Extractor - 0FI_ACDOCA_10/20 which can fulfill all the details that we get for COPA Extractor ?..

I think for COPA Extractor there is some filtering applied for few of the cost elements.

Let me know if anyone has faced scenario and which is the best approach is advised ?

Hope you implemented Account based COPA reporting in BW HANA and S/4 HANA .

May i know you went with ACDOC or the Account based data source created using KEB0.

Hope you already implemented the solution and now have idea which one is best to use for COPA reporting in BW/4 HANA and S/4 HANA 1909 system setup.

Either traditional extractor generated through KEB0 or 0FI_ACDOCA_10/20.

Kindly suggest if you have some insight for it.

Also suggest something from Planning ACDOCP if you have implemented/experience same.

Hi Aditya - Basically, as we now know that SAP has made one central table - ACDOCA for all Actual Postings. You can use one single data source 0FI_ACDOCA_10 for any content in BW for FI, Controlling, COPA, Cost Management , GL, AR, AP

Initially, we checked with our Functional Team how can we recognize that these GL accounts are COPA documents. Then they have told us to restrict based on field - ACCASTY which has the value as EO should be considered as Profitability & Analysis documents.

In that way, we restricted while loading the data from 0FI_ACDOCA_10 for the field ACCASTY - EO. However, it is not true for all the GL Accounts, since we have noticed discrepancy for few of the COPA documents were tagged to Cost center as well. So we have to remove this restriction and just adopted to the list of GL acccounts that were part of our P&L Structure in the reports.

To my knowledge, SAP is still working on ACDOCP extractor. But there is no standard extractor yet, you can use ZDatasource to read the data for Budget from ACDOCP

You can get some parts of the CO-PA accounting data from 0FI_ACDOCA_10/20 but not all. See note 2534522.
