Extending Manage Purchase Order app(Smart template) - Extending OData services

I'm currently working on S/4H 1709 FP02 dealing with the app Manage Purchase Orders (Version 2). There is no header text and item text that has been provided in the standard app. I'm trying to investigate the possible ways to do this. In order to do this, below are the actions already taken which have not yielded the expected result:

a) The app is not extensible, hence no extension via webIDE.

b) Extending the CDS views did not work as expected.

c) Extending the OData MM_PUR_PO_MAINTAIN_V2 caused a dump with the error that "FIPA with technical name PurchaseOrder already exists in the base service".

d) As a last resort, tried to copy the whole app and see if I could make changes via webide, did not work either.

I did not get any hint the fiori apps library that this app cannot be extended in whatever ways possible. Has someone dealt with this or any has any suggestions? Thanks!

OK, let me add that the app highlighted in the question is not extensible at all. It would have been good if SAP updates the documentation appropriately for such apps. If anyone is looking for a similar question could look for in-app extensibility only. Thanks!
