Requirements for implementing SSO with SAP using ADFS 3.0

We are in the research and planning phase for determining which SAP S/4HANA solution we should consider for an global SAP deployment within our organization. Currently we reviewing and considering the following solutions:

SAP S/4HANA HEC managed under SAP Private Managed Cloud

SAP S/4HANA on premises

SAP S/4HANA on Cloud using Azure Large Instance Offering

SAP S/4HANA Hybrid (on-premise and Cloud)

Regardless of the solution that will be deployed, whether listed above, or not, we are looking to implement SSO using are current ADFS 3.0 environment. Our ADFS has a current trusts built into Azure/O365, and other third parties. User accounts are created and maintained by Azure ADConnect synchronizations with our on-premise Active Directory. Authentication into Azure/Third Parties is also handle by our on-premise Active Directory.

Some questions:

Is ADFS SSO supported for all of the deployment scenarios list above? Supported for other deployment options not listed?

If ADFS is supported what are the requirements?

Are there any SAP agents, engines or other products required in order to implement SSO using ADFS? What are they?

Are there any good resources available where I can futher understand SAP SSO using ADFS?

Any explanation or information provided would be greatly appreciated.
