Hi all,
Newbie to these forums.
I'm charged with getting a VB6 application to compile on a machine different from it's current home. Old machine was Win2000, new is Win2003. This means re-installing Crystal Reports 8 and then applying CR9 upgrade.
I've installed to CR9 ok but when I compile my application I get a nag screen 'inviting' me to register. When I hit the 'register' button my net browser starts up but the website fails. This means I can't register and I get the nag screen 20 times per compilation.
Website is:
(I've replaced the key code)
Web response follows:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'
Type mismatch: 'cleanInput'
/x-objects-new/ipl/ipl.inc, line 84
How can I register my copy and stop this nag screen?
Thanks, TonyH
Hi Tony,
Ah yes, our site has changed now that SAP has aquired Business Objects/ Crystal Decisions. Cr 9 is passed it's end of life now so registering it won't be neccessary.
On the old PC where you have CR 9 installed open up the Report Designer and click on Help... About.... and you'll see the registration number. Enter that number into your new install and the nag screen should go away.
I will pass this info onto our Program Manager group and see if they want to follow up. That link should redirect to the current registration URL so it's possible it's been broken.
Thank you
Don

You can manually register products from [here |https://secure.businessobjects.com/login/login.asp?prepare=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Ebusinessobjects%2Ecom%2Fregister%2Fregister%2Easp%3Flanguage%3DEN%26build%3D12%2E1%2E0%2E883%26rsource%3Dweb%5Fproduct%26&language=EN](login required).
This will get you the registration number to disable the nag screen.
Thanks, Blair
