PA:hiring an employee

hi all,

If I want to transfer the data of existing emplyees into sap then what all configuration is to be done...pls tell me from the start...n please explain the pa40 n pa30 in detail....n before starting pa30 n pa40 what all is to be done to transfer the employee data...pls a detail answer...

    To hire an employee you need to

    configure PA,PSA,

    EG,ESG

    actions

    infogroups

    Hi,

    I believe you are doing an HR data migration.

    If the SAP HR system is not implemented then all personnel actions has to be configured, enterprise structure, personnel structure, work schedules, infotypes, sub types, Wage types, has to be configured.

    If the SAP HR system is already implemented , then you could use the actions in IT0000 to upload the data. (clarify us what u are doing)

    Things to be checked before data migration is:

    1. An Hiring conversion action should be available in PA40, if not create on with required ITs

    2. If the enterprise structure is new, then PA / PSA has to be created, If already exist, then convert the office location is the legacy conversion data to SAP PA / PSA

    3. If the employees have new work schedule , then new work schedule has to be created. If WSR is already exist, then map it properly in legacy data conversion

    4. Same for Payscale structure

    5. Same for payroll area , if they are in different pay frequency and pay date.

    6. Bank keys of the employees should be checked in the system before uploading master data. If they dont exist BNKA table then they have to be created.

    7. Depending on the country...US/India check the repective infotypes and do the needful (please do mention the country so I can further let you know)\

    8. If you have OM, the Org units, job codes, position, relationships has to be loaded before PA data.

    9. Based on the Hiring Conversion action's infogroup(like IT 0, 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 41,94,77 ), collect the data. Use LSMW to record the actions, the capture the fields in the recording. This will become yout data template for data upload.

    Convert your legacy data according to this template and upload the data.

    10. After the basic ITs, then load IT14, 15, 207,208,209,210,etc...

    PA40 - is for personnel action and PA30 - master data maintanence.

    I would recommend you to take HR305 course, this will help you alot.

    difference between the PA30 and Pa40

    PA30-Maintaining the Master data

    PA40-Personnel actions

    for every personnel action is an event that occur to an Employee (Hiring , Promotion , Change of Pay Etc)

    so in order to perform these events certain infotypes has to be updated say for hiring u need to update some infotypes with proper Operation called INS check V_T588D

    and for Promotion u need to perform certain Events which leads u to maitnain again certain infotypes

    like 0000 , 0001 ,0002 while hiring itself we maintian these details but The operation will change here As COP as we already have that data of the employee "

    so PA40 Personnel Action we Group certain infotypes in Infogroup (V_T588D) for each Action by useinf appropriate Action

    so PA40 u no need to maintian one by one infotype It is a Group of Collection of Infotype"

    which will trigger automatically so pls check that one

    PA30 is for Maintaining the data

    We can hire from PA30 also but the user shd remmeber the Infotypes that Triggers For an Event like Promotion , Hiring , Change of pay so it will be difficult to him to remind all the ifnotypes one after one
